Vibrant Backyard Wedding | Erica + Nick

From the start of the day, there was a looming threat of storms. The sky stayed overcast, and the forecast wasn’t in anyone’s favour—but Erica and Nick didn’t let it shake them. They stayed calm, hopeful, and fully present, trusting that whatever the day brought, they’d roll with it. As luck would have it, the rain completely bypassed the property, clearing just in time for their outdoor ceremony. It felt like the storm quite literally went around them—a quiet blessing that let them enjoy the moments exactly as planned.
Later in the evening, just as the dance floor was about to open up, tornado warnings started going off and the power cut out. What could’ve been a complete disruption ended up turning into one of the most memorable parts of the day. Without hesitation, their friends and family stepped in, driving to their near by homes and bringing back their own generators to keep the celebration going. It was a powerful moment—watching their community rally around them without question, making sure the night didn’t lose its spark.
Erica and Nick’s wedding wasn’t defined by the weather, but by the way everyone responded to it. Their day was full of joy, connection, and unwavering support. It was an honour to witness how loved they are and to document a day that truly reflected their strength, optimism, and the incredible people they’re surrounded by.
