Intimate Wedding at Hessenland Inn & Schatz Winery | Amy + Mark
Amy and Mark's journey began with their daughters playing soccer together, but it wasn’t until a trip to St. FX University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, that things took a romantic turn. Amidst the chaos of Hurricane Fiona knocking out power, the couple had one sunny day to hike up Keppoch Mountain, where Mark proposed while Amy was snapping a selfie. Their vision for their wedding was an intimate celebration with close family and friends, set against a beautiful backdrop. Hessenland Inn & Schatz Winery turned out to be the perfect venue, offering stunning photo opportunities with lush gardens, waterfalls, and vineyards, all while accommodating their guests with a lovely menu and on-site lodging.
For Amy and Mark, it was essential to have a photographer who could capture the emotion of the day in multiple locations, including a special stop at the cemetery to honour loved ones who had passed. Their memory table and donation request to the Canadian Cancer Society raised over $800, making the day even more meaningful. With a clear focus on classic and clean details, the beautiful white flowers were exactly what they envisioned. Their day was filled with personal touches, from the sand ceremony involving their kids to the late-night donut bar and a heartfelt group photo after the ceremony. Amy’s favourite moment was the evening of dancing, while Mark cherished the vows and the sight of Amy walking down the aisle.
The couple faced a few challenges along the way, including planning their wedding in just six months and a brief rain delay during the ceremony. Despite these surprises, they remained positive and advised future couples to communicate openly and make decisions that feel right for them. Amy and Mark's wedding was an unforgettable day full of love, family, and cherished memories, all beautifully captured at Hessenland Inn & Schatz Winery.
